A recent forward

I got this in an email and thought it was quite clever, so I am posting it here-

I love this!!! A little long but well worth the read
The person that wrote this is a college student. Perhaps there is some hope for us after all.
DIVORCE AGREEMENTTHIS IS SO INCREDIBLY WELL PUT AND I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT'S BY A YOUNG PERSON, A STUDENT!!!

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950's for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.
Here is a model separation agreement:--

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.--
We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.--
You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.--
We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel.--
You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.-
We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.--
You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.--
We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks.--
We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood. --
You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.--
You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.--
We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.--
You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.--
We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Leaf you can find. --
You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.--
We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.--
We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem."--
I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World".--
We'll practice trickle-down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.--
Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you answer which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.Sincerely,John J. WallLaw Student and an AmericanP.S. Also, please take Ted Turner, Sean Penn, Martin & Charlie Sheen, Barbara Streisand, & ( Hanoi ) Jane Fonda with you.
P.S.S. And you won't have to press 1 for English when you call our country.

Belated Update

About the book. Not bad really. I am almost done with it. It started out as one of those 'can't put it down' reads, but it didn't last. It's still easy to pick up, but I can only read a little at a time. It's certainly funny, and I agreee with a ton of what she says, but it's kind of depressing at the same time, b/c we are a screwed up society/nation, and I am certainly 'called out' many times in that book too. Maybe that's why I have to put it down so much. Hmmmm......

Well, I have also read the book, The Help. Loved it!!!! Then I saw the movie. Really like that too. Now I am using it as a unit study with the girls.

New Book

I picked this book up at Borders yesterday b/c it was deeply discounted b/c they are going out of business and I also had a gift card to use.
I don't agree with everything she says, but for the most part she tells it like it is, usually quite hilariously. I might actually make it required homeschool reading! I am looking forward to what it says - I am sure I will be guilty of some of the points.

Here's an excerpt:
"Our manners are shot. We dress like homelss prostitutes and derelict drug addicts. We spend countless hours social networking and end up becoming less social. Our pop culture has popped. In areas as broad as personal grooming, recreation, education, parenting, faith and even the way we travel, the verdict is in: we have fallen faster than a discount facelift. We're going to hell in a handbasket (and the handbasket was made in China)."

Looks good. I'll keep you updated.

Too Cute

I don't usually enjoy the movies that I end up watching with/for my kids nowadays. BUT, this one is an exception. Really cute movie, and well done, I thought.

I am going to need to post more frequently for a little while, because my most recent posts are just too hard to look at.

I thought it was a good day for tulips.

Diamond Rio- One More Day With Lyrics

Zoe (Sweetie Little Guy) 8/00 - 6/11

Since I was a little girl, I always wanted you. You have been more to me than I could have ever imagined. My shadow, my comforter, my true friend.
I cannot express the grief I feel over losing you, but I will find comfort in the the truth that you are with your Creator. The one who loves you even more than I do. The one who gave you life and then gave me the opportunity to share it with you. For that I am forever thankful.

"Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And yet not one of them is forgotten by Yahweh".

Love My Neighbors

I recently received these flowers from one of my neighbors. They were just too pretty not to share.
Just another reason why I love living at Kramer.

Beach Days In Michigan

One of our homeschool groups plan beach days through the summer for the kids to stay in touch. Well here's how the last two ended up because of our wonderful Michigan weather!

Pizza & a movie at my house.

Bowling at Pampa Lanes

Drew found $5 at the bowling alley and bought herself a Coke, and then a Reeses pack fell out for free. It was her lucky day!

Groovy

The final homeschool rollerskating of the year had an 'Oldies' theme and the kids were encouraged to dress up in any decade from the 1950's-1980's (yes, the 80's are now considered 'oldies', can you believe it!?). Many of the kids (and parents too, ) went all out. It was 'gnarly' dude!

Happy Days Crew

Here is Drew in all her 80's glory. If you look behind her you can catch a glimpse of my sister Noelle. Her outfit/look was GREAT and she was tied for 1st place in the Costume Contest. She lost to Jordyn in the tie-breaker!

Here is a better one of Noelle.
Here are some random group shots...

UPDATE - a little out of order :-)

Well, I have a lot to catch up on, so here it goes...

Florida,
The girls and I had a blast in Florida again this year! We started out at an awesome dinner show in Orlanda called Pirates Dinner Adventure (Drew even got picked to be part of the show). It was awesome to say the least! I highly recommend it! The next day we went to the Magic Kingdom, and we had a great time, but we actually enjoyed the Pirate Dinner Adventure more. From there we drove back down to southern Florida to stay at my mom & dad's place for the rest of the week. We were able to spend time with Aunt Cheryl and loved every minute of it. We at some great restaraunts, a couple that were right on the water. We spent some time at the beach, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. But soon enough it was time to come home.
For 'Northerners', Florida is like a fairytale land that you get to experience for a little while, but then it's right back to reality. Thankfully though we prefer our reality, because "home is where our daddy is"! We sure missed Ben!
