The Invinsible Carnies

Here are my unwanted adopted carny (carnival) fish. One of my daycare kids was dropped off at my house after his grandma brought him back from a carnival. He had these wonderful creatures with him. Seeing that I was going to have to keep them for the day, I put them in this 2 gallon aquarium I had. Well, when his mom came to get him she let him know that she didn't want the fish. So, to make a long story short, I still have them. How long is this story you ask? Going on 3 years this summer! Unbelievable.

Realization

I just realized that I am not very good at getting pictures. I sat down to blog something and can't really find any recent pictures to add. So, I will work on that and hopefully give anyone following this some reason to keep doing so. :-)

For your viewing pleasure, here is how I found Drew one night when I checked on her. Too cute to resist. That flash sure lit up the room!

Underground Railroad

For those who do not know, we homeschool our daughters. We have been homeschooling for the past couple years and we love it. We go on many field trips and I will be posting as we go. Here is our most recent.

Last Friday we went downtown to the First Congregational Church in Detroit which hosts the "Flight To Freedom Tour", and Underground Railroad living museum. The church itself is gorgeous and I have included pictures of it. We had about 50+ kids & parents from our group attending. We watched a video, heard an interesting lecture on Harriet Tubman and then the kids were taken in groups through the 'underground railroad'. This is a story telling re-enactment of the original passage that we were acting participants of. It was very exciting.

Here I Go Again!

Well, I've tried this before (blogging), but I will give it another shot and see how it goes. Hopefully I will keep up with it this time!

Things are going really well for us. As most everyone knows, we sold our home in Roseville (TO THE GLORY OF GOD!!!) and are very thankful to be living in Kramer Homes again. Many people have asked if we wish that we had never moved out to begin with. Surprisingly I have to say no to that one. There is so much that I learned during the past 7 years that will positively affect our future. Things that I had to experience to be able to appreciate the new route we are taking. So, I am thankful for the knowledge I now have and the new life that I am leading.
Thank you to everyone who was praying for us and for the sale of our house. God is faithful!

Hopefully this fresh start will continue in my blogging. Time will tell!

I'm posting a farewell (good-riddance) picture of the old house. It really was a very nice home for us for the time & we had many great memories.
