I had BIG plans for Ben's first camping trip! Plans that would cause him to join our camping ranks! Instead, we all went AWOL and left that campsite only hours before the fireworks were to begin. I could never fully explain that place. It was like a city unto itself. Streets upon streets of sardined, seasonal campers. Many even went so far as to build an actual cottage around the camper! It was WAY too big and crowded and busy. But, it's all I could find because of the holiday. I will have to remember to make reservation well in advance next year!
Luckily we made it home in time to see the neighborhood light up and Ben even found some great last minute fireworks deals on 8 mile to help the girls to feel better about leaving.
Sounds more like a local mobile home community than a camp "ground".
